The Debellatio Collection emerged so unexpectedly and suddenly that it soon put all other work on hold. The theme itself on the surface is war and military based. However, the themes of war also provide a metaphor for love, relationships, life's ups and downs, and inner healing. Everyone fights their own battles in life. Some unprovoked, some initiated, and some inherited. This collection explores the various phases and emotions we cycle through when something in life completely falls apart of when we begin to go within to heal the past. Unlike a fairy tale with a happy ending, it reflects real life and the fact that sometimes things don't turn out as we planned. This collection is about suffering a defeat at its most brutal but then finding a way to push through and carry on. It explores inner contemplation, understanding, and acceptance as well as how even in our darkest times the human spirit is able to pick up the broken pieces to reemerge a transformed and healed survivor.
